Softworld HR & Payroll highlights

pp_default1

Softworld HR & Payroll event takes place from 20-21 October 2004 at the NEC, Birmingham. The event features an exhibition of around 40 leading solutions suppliers, as well as an educational programme comprising vendor seminar, breakfast briefing and masterclass sessions.

A major highlight this year will be the question and answer session with the Inland Revenue.

Marie Gibbs, business adviser for the Revenue will host a session at the event to explain all about the Government’s new online filing requirements for employers.

The Government wants to encourage employers to realise the benefits of using new technology. Large employers (250 or more) must file online from next year and medium-sized employers (50-249) the year after. Small employers (fewer than 50) do not have to file online yet, but can get up to £825 tax-free over five years if they do so.

The Softworld session covers:

  • An overview of online filing

  • How to file online

  • A timetable for deadlines for employers

  • Details about the tax-free payments for small employers

See HRZone’s dedicated Softworld zone for further information.
