Mid-Range Wage definition

The mid-range wage is the middle 50 percent in a given distribution, or the range between the twenty-fifth and seventy-fifth percentiles. In other words, 25 percent of salaries are lower than the lowest boundary of the mid-range, while 25 percent of salaries are higher than the highest boundary of the mid-range. The mid-range is a measurement used in statistical analysis of wages, as well as the median wage and the mean wage.
