HR Information Systems definition

An umbrella term referring to the systems, processes and technology that links human resource management (HRM) and information technology. As the remit of HR has warped and shifted from a purely administrative function to one with increasing responsibility for many areas of business success, there’s been a need to automate the more time-consuming administrative functions to provide time for HR professionals to tackle the tasks that can’t yet be automated.
