Contingency Recruiter definition

Recruitment companies that operate on a ‘no hire, no fee’ basis – the hiring company only pays when the recruitment company introduces a candidate who then subsequently goes onto employment at the firm.

Fees differ but range from 12.5 percent to 20 percent of the candidate’s first-year basic salary and the recruitment company will typically have a policy in replace to refund the hiring company should the candidate underperform or leave within an agreed timeframe.

Contingency recruiters may be cost-effective for companies, depending on their in-house recruitment resource. Other recruitment models include hourly payment and advanced retainers.
