It was viva Espana for all 15 employees of Portfolio Payroll whose boss took them off to Barcelona for a five-star luxury weekend – complete with spending money.

The £50,000 trip was the reward for a successful year which saw the payroll recruitment business being recognised as one of the fastest growing companies in the country in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 awards.

Portfolio Payroll managing director Danny Done said: ““I wanted to take the opportunity to thank my staff for all their excellent hard work and effort they have put in over the last year. The happiness and morale of my staff are of paramount importance to me, and I thought they deserved their time away in Barcelona.

“I believe that to achieve success in the recruitment industry, you need a great team behind you pulling the strings, and the holiday acts not only as a reward, but also as a crucial team building exercise which will help our productivity and relationship building in our workplace.

“I’m going one step further next year, as I am planning to take my team to Dubai, and as such I’ll probably be spending even more money that I did this year. But it is the impetus, the prize at the end of tunnel which helps us all to dig in and push just that little bit more.”
