Thanks Brian - I'll have a read through that now, and will probably include it in next week's round up!

On the whole I agree that unpaid internships should disappear from businesses - as you say it's important to reward a trainee and make them aware of their worth, especially if they are so early on in their career.
I think the times it could be acceptable is if it is a short placement (ie. a week or less) where the experience and potential contacts that could be built up might make it worthwhile - those still don't pay for your travel and bills though!

Chocolate Hobnobs are a favourite of ours too - I definitely think a selection of cheesy stock images of Jamie can be arranged, especially if it means he gets to eat biscuits and cake...

Good points - it's too easy to get caught up in the main point of what you want to say rather than the best way to articulate it. I agree that it's also important to stress that feedback is a two way process, especially when it comes to what happens next!

Thank you for sharing, Leti. Agree that the only way is to be more open and understanding with each other, only that way can we really succeed.

Nice tips Bryan - thank you for sharing! I think a lot of employers can see the necessity in using Facebook to recruit, but don't know where to begin.

It could be worth asking this question in our Discuss forum (you can find it in the Community section of the site) - one of our members may be able to advise?
