As senior vice president, client strategy and consulting at Workhuman, Derek leads the company’s insight consulting division. In this role, he helps clients – including some of world’s most recognised companies – leverage proven recognition strategies and best practices to elevate employee engagement, increase retention, and improve bottom-line results.

A renowned speaker, author of an acclaimed blog, Recognize This!, and co-author of Winning with a Culture of Recognition and The Power of Thanks, he teaches HR leaders how to use recognition to proactively manage company culture. He is also co-author of the upcoming book, Making Work Human, which he wrote alongside Workhuman co-founder and CEO, Eric Mosley.
