David Hamilton enjoys telling friends, and pretty much anyone who enjoys the sport, that his wife is a better golfer than he is. Considering his many more years of experience playing golf, even on courses all over the world, he has never scored a hole-in-one while she has! And this good-natured competitive spirit has urged David to take a leg out and move into a different industry despite having grown up and dealt with the IT sector for most of his working life! David has begun to initiate his move into the self storage industry with Supercheap Self Storage as one of the chain owners at a new facility in Geelong and we’re sure that his desire to succeed will bring him closer to his goals of building his own legacy for his family.
The Supercheap Self Storage business model is simply - we want our customers to just sit back and let Supercheap Storage take care of everything, and help you save money to boot! Our business is all about making it cheaper and easier for you to move into self storage. From our self storage modules that can be moved to your location so that you can pack and load that much quicker, to our flexible contracts that don’t force you to pay for renting more than you need, you can be assured that our business is all about helping you with storage when you need it!
As an employee, I can safely say that the benefits of a company are definitely one of the main reasons that attract us to apply for an opening there. This usually comes before a series of other important factors like remuneration package, environment, and location. First impression lasts and that would be the benefits that have got to be offered.
It is just human to know that there are bound to be results before we commit to something. The same rule applies to the workplace with the superiors. They need to get a feel of what they can expect before they are down to take that particular route being recommended.
Regardless of your profession, it does not matter what other people have to say about it. At the end of the day, you are holding that very post so you need to be happy while doing it. That is what we encourage at our self storage which is for our employees to love serving us and our customers so as to ensure they are enjoying what they are doing and they will always give their best everytime.
I think a good idea for businesses to have, is to have a monthly meeting with the staff so that they can hash things out. To tell the management or the manager about what they face while providing their service to customers, about how the storage rooms are being managed or whatever. People like to know they are being heard!
It is not surprising to know that employers aren't really catering to the needs of their employees. They only care about having someone in place to tend to their service needs. Apart from that, they wouldn't even bother at all to look into the well-being of their staff unless drastic situations were to arise. Sadly, that is how the industry truly is today.
