Me, angry?
Can't see why. Six years unemployment despite duxing my degree, and postgrad topups. I have so much time to do the things I want....
HR's young girls who process entry level job apps are doing their best to redress the gender gap, so I wouldn't want to disrupt their lofty ambitions. Even if males seeking f/t work are 15% above the average, and (surprisingly), females 15% below.
Kabat-Zinn's spin on MF has taken us away from the Buddhist understanding of 'holding in mind'. The Tibetan 'drenpa' is literally remembering, and His Holiness explains this in an example requiring action, based upon one's previous experiences.
So I like the inclusion of 'doing'. Besides which, if we multitask between these focii of do, be-do-be then we can attain the state of Manamana ;)
I whistleblew endemic criminal corruption (as verified by the Vic Police Fraud Squad) in Telco infrastructure construction. This is a key reason why Australia's NBN fibre rollout is the world's most expensive, and have met with PM Turnbull to explain (he gave me a hug). I was rewarded with an exclusive redundancy offer, including counselling on job transition.
My counselor had assisted a CFO. Who'd resigned whenever asked to do anything unethical - six times. Every one of those CEOs grandly announced the recruitment of a person of integrity, yet within a year or two would request adjustments to the figures.
It's ingrained in humanity.
I doubt that the Buddha would've appreciated His Holiness holding any copyright on the dharma - it's meant to evolve. Tibetan Buddhism, or Theravada, or Vipassana, are not franchises but varied insights. An informative lecture is at: archive.org/download/AlanWallacePublicTalkMindfulness/AlanWallacePublicTalk_mindfulness_26March2012.mp3
I also appreciate David Gelles' book 'Mindful Work' on issues arising from product placement in corporations.
MF was embraced by Monsanto FFS!!!!
I'm a medical researcher, and spend much time elaborating on endemic corruption within our institution, at fnmyalgia.com
Drs make **it up, with total impunity. HBR may not value science - but lay person's interest is more taken by speculative opinion. Anyway, their ethics surpass those of the Aust Financial Review, where a fullpage article on our business growth and further potential coincided with my retrenchment. My boss paid for its placement, returning handsomely when the company was sold shortly thereafter!
Claims of exemplary evidence are made by Cochrane. Their review of mindfulness was determined to be ineffectual for chronic pain, yet psychotherapy was determined to be beneficial. It was written by a psychologist. Who classified a successful Kabatt-Zinn group class led by an MD, with meditation & bodyscans, as psychotherapy. Mmmm 'kay... (more cynicism is posted at http://themindfulgap.com.au/research-articles-for-investigative-minds/)
76% of all statistics are made up on the spot. A quoted figure of 50 rings alarm bells of fudged data unless a study can be cited.
Hi-freq Gamma waves reflect the most chaotic brain activity, and mindfulness meditation trains at alpha-SMR frequencies of below 15Hz.

Is this a deliberate ploy to stigmatise us over 55s ? I'm fitter, stronger, and more conscientious than the unemployed youth who receive so much concern. I don't require benidorm leave, in fact my only employment in the past few years has been casual ski instructing.
Nor do I require half of summer to recover from rave festivals.
In corporate worlds, you'll be seen as the stupid one who got caught. My integrity failure in the Navy led to resolve to uphold standards - and a whistleblow against endemic criminal corruption in my next employer. Dismissed, unemployed 3.8years. No place for reformed cons in biz, sorry!
This is great. Let's also tell our friends in HR about our sexual problems that stop us getting a good night's sleep.
If collective experience is worth anything at all, never, NEVER reveal personal details at work. Such insights will be used against you, and ignore this advice at your peril.
Re-appropriation of spiritual values for commercial purposes is source of much Buddhist angst, however I offer two blogs at fnmyalgia.com/2015/07 where military adoption has not only reached a wider audience but is also evolving the dharma.
T2Health is an initiative to facilitate meditative techniques for those who wouldn't otherwise be receptive. Interoception which would demand a lifetime of Zen contemplation is now offered through technology, over the counter from Mindtec!
