Barbara Wilson, Founder and Director, Working With Cancer

Barbara Wilson is the founder and Director of Working With Cancer. She is a senior HR professional with over 40 years’ experience at Catlin Group Ltd, Schroders, Barclays and Price Waterhouse.

Ten years ago, after being diagnosed with breast cancer, Barbara set up a group to help those people affected by cancer to return successfully to work. From 2008 to 2010, as part of the National Cancer Survivorship Initiative, she chaired a team developing ‘work and cancer’ support tools for employees, employers, carers and health professionals.

In 2014 after attending the School for Social Entrepreneurs, Barbara launched Working With Cancer as a Social Enterprise providing coaching, training and consultancy services to employers, employees, carers and health professionals.

Although based in the South East, the company supplies services throughout the UK to organisations and individuals affected by cancer. Services provided to commercial employers subsidise those for charities and private individuals.

WWC offers services which do not presently exist in the UK; no other organisations provide coaching for cancer survivors as well as workshops for cancer patients on successfully managing work and cancer.
