REC aims for consistency in agency Induction training

pp_default1

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation’s (REC) Accredited Induction Scheme (AIS) is aimed at ensuring a consistency in induction training and recognising the achievements of companies who deliver a structured induction training to new entrants.

Recruitment Consultancies with a formal induction training programme have the opportunity to submit their programme to the scrutiny of the REC auditors, and if successful, achieve REC accreditation to prove their training complies to a benchmark standard.

The audit is based on the Foundation Vocational Award syllabus, and involves assessment of training covered during Induction, ensuring that consultants undertaking accredited training will have the best possible chance of passing the REC Foundation examination.

If the company is audited successfully, and receives the REC accreditation, the training offers consultants the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification – the Foundation Vocational Award in Employment Agency Practice.

Judith Armatage, Director of Professional Development believes that AIS is important as it ensures induction training is conducted to regulated high standards and that all new consultants are qualified to a national standard. “By becoming a REC AIS company demonstrates professionalism. The receivership of external validation offers companies the opportunity to be seen as leaders in promoting the training and development of new consultants,” says Armatage.

The companies participating in the scheme are provided with a special logo that can be used for promotional purposes within their marketing material, which proves they adhere to set requirements.

AIS companies are subject to annual audits and quality checks on the exam procedure they undertake, to ensure their continued and consistent high standards. Companies presently operating under this scheme include:
