HR Tip: When to issue contractual statements

pp_default1

These questions are being answered by Learn HR, a market leader in the provision of HR and payroll training and nationally-recognised professional qualifications.

Q: “Exactly when should we issue written statements of terms and conditions of employment?”

A: Every employee with one month of service is entitled to a written statement of terms and conditions of employment and you are required to issue this by the end of their second month of service. To avoid having to remember to do this, why not issue them on the day an employee starts? This also means that the employee knows exactly the conditions of his or her employment from day one.
