Transitional Employment definition

Transitional employment refers to programmes that place employees into subsidised positions designed to help them acclimatise to non-subsidised positions as quickly as possible. Employees in transitional employment may have been off work due to injury or sickness and looking to return to the workforce. Transitional employment often forms part of a country’s job creation program, designed to help unemployed individuals find work.
