Accessibility definition

The extent to which a location allows free movement of those with disabilities and doesn’t require disabled people to use special equipment or change their movements in order to use the place to the same level as non-disabled people. In HR, this term is typically applied to places of work, toilets and client sites.

In the UK, employers must make ‘reasonable  adjustments’ to avoid disabled people being disadvantaged compared to non-disabled people in the workplace, such as providing special equipment where necessary or desk space in the most accessible part of the organisation.
