A certification from the HR Certification Institute that’s designed for HR professionals who have ultimate accountability in the HR departments of their business, have between six and eight years of complex HR experience, understands the business needs beyond HR and where HR fits into the overall strategy, and designs and plans – rather than implements – HR policies.

The qualification, passed by exam, tests candidate knowledge in a variety of areas: business management and strategy (30 percent), workforce planning and employment (17 percent), human resource development (19 percent), compensation and benefits (13 percent), employee and labour relations (14 percent) and risk management (seven percent).

The exam is made up of 175 multiple-choice questions and candidates are allowed three hours to complete it.
