Safe Harbor Regulations definition

Safe harbor regulations are provisions that limit a company’s liability if they are considered to have adopted best practice standards, taken steps to reduce risk or performed their actions in good faith. Safe harbor regulations are designed to encourage uptake of safety procedures and protect companies from legitimate violations which may have come about through no fault of their own. Safe harbor regulations are common in the United States.
