The Public Sector People Managers’ Association to launch website

pp_default1

The Public Sector People Managers’ Association plans to launch a web portal later this year to help HR managers prepare for, manage and measure proposed change.

The portal, which will be branded ‘Guiding you tHRu’ is due to be showcased at the PPMA Conference in March and is scheduled to go live later this year.

The website is based on the PPMA’s HR Transformation Roadmap and is intended to help HR professionals in the public sector assess the capabilities of their function and develop a business case for transformation. It will also provide them with tools to assess whether their departments have succeeded in delivering expected outcomes.

A number of ‘how-to’ guides covering areas such as HR service delivery models, building managers’ capability to manage people and managing technology and processes will likewise be included and incorporate links to online forums.

Such forums are intended to encourage debate and enable participants to discuss case studies, pose questions and seek answers from peers and experts. The portal will also include online questionnaires and a virtual exhibition area, where approved suppliers will be able to showcase their offerings.

The PPMA board is currently looking for sponsors to fund the development and maintenance of the site, with KPMG and NorthgateArinso already having pledged support. The organisation also intends to approach the Local Government Association’s Improvement Board for help.
