HR tip: Changing terms of employment after TUPE

Question:

"A month ago a group of employees was transferred to our company under the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations (TUPE). We would like to bring their terms and conditions of employment into line with existing employees. How do we go about this?"

HR tip:

A move to change terms and conditions because of TUPE would be a breach of the regulations. However, the link between the change and the transfer will diminish with time. I suggest therefore that you wait until you have a sound reason for changing the terms and conditions of all employees and make your move then.
