The CIPD’s HR Software Show will shine the spotlight on human capital management analytics at this year’s Olympia London event. And two Human Resources specialists will be on hand to ensure their peers can make more intelligent – and pain-free – use of the data they already hold at their fingertips.

Linzi Omar, HR Shared Services Manager, and Inese Teacher, Senior HR Systems & MI Specialist from leading recruitment firm Randstad, will take to the stage to outline how to get maximum value from the metrics that HR and payroll technology can produce.

The practical, 30 minute session – Top tips to tackle HR analytics without the headache – will take place on Wednesday 15 June from 11:15-11:45. The aim is to power more effective decision making within HR teams and beyond, to drive bottom line business outcomes.

Drawing upon their own analytics journey, Linzi and Inese will share how they first identified the need for a HR system that could deliver configurable reporting. They will show delegates how they produced some of the first reports, before highlighting how their chosen HR solution – Cascade – has enabled the continued evolution of their reporting capabilities. Finally, the seminar will close by looking at the strategic business impact of the metrics they’ve uncovered.

Commenting on the industry’s much-discussed topic of analytics, Linzi said: “So many HR professionals still dread the perceived minefield of HR reporting and ‘big data’. But analytics isn’t going to go away – in fact it’s becoming more important than ever as the emphasis on effective measurement grows! HR teams therefore need to change their mindset and embrace the opportunities that technology brings, if they are to raise their profile and make a more strategic contribution to their organisations.”

As a result of savvier reporting, Randstad has experienced a 5% decrease in labour turnover, an 18% rise in billing performance for new starters, and a 25% uplift in L&D spending due to the team’s ability to prove the ROI that would be generated.

Inese continues: “We are very proud of the progress we have made, and the genuine passion we now have for analytics, both within our team and throughout the wider company. It’s given us a hunger that now sees us constantly embarking upon new projects that will further fuel the employee engagement, development and retention benefits of the business, not to mention our performance.

“But, armed with the right technology, organisations of any size can produce meaningful – rather than mindboggling – metrics. This is what we hope our seminar will show.”

The seminar is free to attend and delegates will be provided with a reporting ‘next steps’ pack to take away with them. Cascade – Randstad’s HR software provider – will be exhibiting nearby on Stand H150 and will be available to answer any questions, or demonstrate the technology’s reporting capabilities in more detail.

Entry to the exhibition is free but fast-track pre-registration is advised.
