My employer has a contractual policy of not providing sick pay (except SSP due after 3days+ of illness).

I recently contracted an illness whilst away on business in a foreign country which has been proved by my doctor with a blood test – this required 2 days off work which line manager was made aware of, and I also did some work & email from home during this period

My employer has now deducted 2 days pay for this illness and refused to reconsider – is this justifiable??
