Dear HRzoners
It's hard to begin this, but I have to inform you that this is my last week as Editor.
You've been a wonderful bunch and the team here at Sift Media have been the best. But it's time I moved on.
You'll be pleased to hear I have not been caught up in the phone hacking scandal, rather, I will be continuing in my community-minded line of work in another position.
Thank you, all, for reading articles, commenting on articles, contributing articles, submitting blogs, starting discussions and generally being jolly nice to each other and making my life pleasant and sometimes, giving me moments where I just want to scoop you all up and actually hug you. Even if that might make you slightly uncomfortable.
Some of the best things about the HRzone community, in my opinion, is that when you think someone has overstepped the line, you march in, together. Someone needs advice? You are there. An unfair work practice? You defend the victim. I don't expect any member to agree with or love every aspect of the site, but the way in which the community responds to us - and each other - makes it a very special place.
And we've had a lot of fun too. Hunting the Robin, rubbishing business jargon, learning new things and exploring new things like social media. I can't name all the members I've met, but it's been the best part of my job to meet you 'in real life' and interact with you online.
Don't ever change. Become bigger, better and learn more, but always be the community for everyone in human resources.
The fun isn't over yet, because I can tell you now that we have a wonderful replacement. Cath Everett, who has diligently been sniffing out news for us for a while now, is going to take over from me and build on what we have so far. Please welcome her as Editor and keep up the amazing work you have been doing for the past 11 years.
My last day is tomorrow, 22 July. For those of you who have become Twitter friends, I will remain @charlie_elise, but Cath will take over the @HRzone account.
If you want to get in touch with Cath, you can email [email protected].
Cath will settle in and then start her own Editor's blog.
Once again; thank you, and my very best to you all and Cath as she takes over.
Kindest regards
Charlie Duff

I can't say goodbye because it will make me cry and so will say au revoir (untill I see you again) which is odd as we've never (yet) met - although there's still tears in my eyes as I type that. The tears are a sign of how much I've felt welcomed, how much you've connected with me and others here and on twitter and the authenticy with which you've done it. I'm sure there will be a doug song and there wont be a dry eye in the house and am sure it will take him a few tries to do it without too.
We'll all miss you - I'll miss you - and I wish you from the bottom of my heart all the very very very very very very best in your new and I'm sure exciting adventures.
Love, hugs, laughter and wonderfull hr cup cakes to you

Alison, I can't thank you enough for becoming a blogger, tweeter and active member of the community. I am going to try not to cry tomorrow as well - it was a really hard decision, and an even harder community to leave.
(Don't start me off, I won't be able to stop!)
Kindest regards
Charlie
Even as a relative "noob" here on HRZone, I have to say that I will miss your input. Your writing has on many occasions prompted some excellent discussion amongst the senior team here, helped corroborate our own thinking and at times, even prompted us to steer things in a different direction!
Much appreciated - and good luck with the new project.
Charlie
So long Charlie; you'll be missed. The Zones won't be the same without you! All the very best for your new role.
Dan Martin
Editor, BusinessZone.co.uk (sister site to HRZone)
That is high praise indeed. I hope you will feel the same about my replacement Cath, I'm sure you're all going to love her. :-)
I'm going to miss everyone. And I do not doubt that I will be checking in on the sites and seeing how everything is going!
And with our combined start up interest I'm sure our paths will cross again!
Thanks Dan...
Hey Charlie - I hope the next step of your journey is as much fun as this one has been. I've told you this, and writte about it before but I'll say it again. Under your stewardship HRZone has developed into a useful, interssting and enjoyable place. Your open approach in encouraging people like me to get involved is great. I wish you well in your new endeavours and I wish Cath well in picking up here too.
See you soon - Doug
You've taken being a member here into a new dimension - who could forget 'A song for HRzone?'
Thanks for everything Doug.
It's been wonderful to know you on HR Zone (and The HR Director, if I'm allowed to say that). I hope you're staying in the HR arena so we can meet up and talk work / HR / fun nonsense.
Best of luck in your new role !!!
Dom

Good luck Charlie; it's been a pleasure working with you!
Cheers
Fraser
Best of luck to you, Charlie. I second many of the comments already made. You elevated HRZone to a useful, insightful community where I never fail to learn. I am grateful I had the opportunity to meet you and am sorry to see you go.
In your new endeavours, please do let me know if I can ever be of assitance!
Best regards.
Derek Irvine
You've done a great job there Charlie.
I hope you'll still get to do a few conferences from time to time - the speakers & bloggers world won't feel quite the same without you there ALL the time!
I presume you'll be setting up your own blog now too?
Jon.
From my current field and will still be tweeting. And going to a few events no doubt. Thanks Dom, for your kind words and support over the years.
Best wishes
Charlie
For all the support and chat and ideas. It's been great working with you and I'm sure you'll continue to add a lot to HRzone.
Kindest regards
Charlie
- at the HR Directors Business Summit in January in Birmingham. I hope it won't be the last time our paths cross.
Thank you for all the blogs and advocacy you give to the community.
Best wishes
Charlie
Thank you Jon and yes, I'm sure I will still pop up from time to time, (ConnectingHR, anyone?) in some brightly coloured shoes, somewhere near you. Thank you for all the advice, help and articles over the years. And for co-hosting with me on occasion. Go team!
Kindest regards and fond memories of it all -
Charlie
Charlie - thanks for all you have done for this site as Editor, and not the least for your personal encouragement (and even for responding to my own occasional emails so promptly!).
You have kept this site live, relevant and vibrant Charlie - and what I personally most appreciate, as much of interest to those like me with far wider professional interests than 'just HR', as to both new entrants to the profession and those with far more experience and wisdom who have so much to offer., and do so
Cath - all best wishes in your new position. Let 'ever onwards and upwards' be your motto! (I am sure it has been Charlie's!)
My best wishes to you both.
Jeremy
I'm glad you've had such a great experience here and I'm sure it will continue to get better under Cath's able stewardship.
Very best wishes
Charlie
