You know me I love language and often remind myself and you of what we’re really saying and impact it’s having on our conscious and unconscious. So it will come as no surprise that I take note of examples when reading – this example from Stephen Lundin’s (he of Fish fame) book on innovation made me stop in my tracks.

Curiosity killed the cat!

I’m sure it’s a phrase initially intended to stop people being nosy – ie nosy about other people’s personal lives. I just wonder, as Stephen does in the book – if we’ve taken it to heart in all areas of our lives. After all curiosity and a desire to find out more is one of the key characteristics to creativity and innovation.

So next time you’re looking for inspiration and a different view just remember cats have nine lives and get curious.
