‘Snake bites back at boss’ wins HRZone Competition

pp_default1

Merry Christmas

HRZone is delighted to announce this year’s winner of the Christmas Party Clangers competition is Jo Minns, HR Consultant at the Royal Bank of Scotland for her snake attack on boss story.

We invited members to send in their most hilarious and outrageous Christmas party tales.

Among the entries were stories of a bucking bronco trouser split, CCTV recorded romance, bikini clad temps, 9pm watershed wipe out, high jinks injuries, social faux pas, forgotten addresses and a cancelled Christmas.

Winner, Jo Minns clinched the competition, however, with her fervent account of a poisoned snack attack on the boss:

“I was at our work xmas party some years ago and each table had a “party box” with a few random gifts in. I decided I would take a plastic snake home for my boyfriend (seemed like a good idea at the time) so tucked it away somewhere safe so that I couldn’t lose it.

“A bit later, and a little worse for wear, I decided to tackle my boss’s boss about his micro-management style and proceeded to launch into a 15 minute monologue about how we needed more RESPONSIBILITY and more ACCOUNTABILITY (all emphasised with some finger pointing). Part way through he looked at me and said “Jo, I’m sorry, I’m going to have to stop you there – you appear to have a plastic snake in your cleavage…”

Party winner, Jo Minns said of her win:

“I’m delighted to have won the Christmas Clangers competition. I only wish I could say that my approach to work parties had matured over the years, but alas…….”

HRZone would like to thank all the entrants for revealing their most embarrassing tales and innermost party secrets!
