If an employee is off sick with Post natal Depression and the company operates a discretionary sick pay policy – does the employee have the right to know why sick pay has not been awarded and can the company withold pay without prior notice to the employee- the employee has been certified as medically unfit for work by her doctor and a mental health worker?
