HR Zone is grateful to the Guardian and the Ottawa Citizen for a timely reminder landing in my e-mail inbox this morning.

Apparently, author and U.S. gynecologist Christiane Northrup is warning that 40 million North American women of the baby-boom generation – the babies born in the immediate post WWII period – are now in the transition to menopause.

It is apparently “an exhilarating time of physical rebirth and intellectual reawakening” which will, “also infuse North American life with a rich new source of social advocacy, political power and creative energy.”

Presumably, women of the baby-boom generation in the UK will find exactly the same as their North American cousins and I’m really glad that we all had the chance to clarify and share that point.

Christiane Northrup’s book – reported to be surging up the best-seller lists, is called The Wisdom of Menopause, and is available through Blackwells priced £17.99 for the paperback version.
