I need help. Is it lawful to extend a probationary period, change the job spec and then sack a person “off the record|” even though the new job spec has not been outlined? but allowing them to officially let me resign for reference purposes.
The meeting where I was informed of this was held off work premises (was told it could not be held on the premises)and not documented in any way, nor was I given any warnings verbal or otherwise (is the lack of documentation also legal, surely the HR department would have to do this?). Am I entitled to ask for a copy of my personnel file now that I have left?
Do I have any legal standing on this at all. My line manager was an out and out bully who left me a nervous wreck and was notorious for this throughout the company.
Any advise at all would be sincerely appreciated.
