An employee has recently declared that she has not received the correct salary since 2000.

We have been investigating this for several weeks, and have been hampered due to now having a different payroll provider and the employee not having any records of hours worked.

The employee in question has been very abusive and threatening during our investigations, even though she only realised the error recently.

The figure we now think she is owed is a sizeable amount.

My question is whether there is a time limit for employees discovering discrepancies and claiming them back, as surely the employee must take some responsiblity in not noticing for 6 years?
